Homework for Monday:
- 3D layout with EACH object of your still life represented.
- Assign shaders to each object. There should be at least one textured shader assigned (checker/ramp/photo etc) so I can see you understand how to use it (even if it won’t be used in your final piece) .
- You should also create a new camera and use that to set up your final angle. Remember, this is due Week 08, so you should have a rough model of each object for Monday’s class.
Please download the handout from Week 04 if you haven’t already. The links listed below don’t cover the material in the same way, but will hopefully get you comfortable with the Hypershade, basic lighting and rendering:
Common Material Attributes : explains the differences in the various shaders
Directional Light and Basic Rendering: This closely follows the lighting method, with Depth Map Shadows and basic rendering as I explained it in class
These 2 tutorials are slightly more advanced, but it will give you an idea of how you can tweak a shader in maya to make it look the way you want:
Carpet or Rug
I will add more links if I find any this weekend.
